They were all big meditators and had been focusing on releasing old stuff lately. You know, this Universal house cleaning everyone is compelled to do right now. They were clearing out old beliefs, stuck, old energy and could feel new things trying to come into their lives. But, it wasn&#8217;t coming. Even with all of the work they had done, there seemed to be something stopping it from coming in and starting to work its magic.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In every case, they had done the work to clear out all of the old energy but there was a problem. They were not clearing out what the old energy was attached to.</span></p>

It is constructed to hold all of the stuff that sits on it; think the framing of the walls of a house. The frame gets nailed together and put in place, then the electrical wiring goes in and the drywall is attached to that framework to form the inside walls of the house.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The inside walls or the drywall so to speak are all of the imprints full of beliefs, traumas, old relationships, connections and many other things that sit on that inner framework and fill it out.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Each client had taken down their walls, but the same framework was still there.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When this happens, it&#8217;s really hard for new energy to come in and fill the space in a different way. It would be like if you were going to remodel a house and leave all of the old framing in place and bring in the drywall that was cut to the new shapes you wanted your newly designed rooms to be. How well do you think that is going to work?? It&#8217;s not.</span></p>

This way, the new energy can come in to fill the space and your energy system has a chance to form new structures to support it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">To do this, you can set an intention for all of your old framework to be released and envision it floating out away from your body. When I look at this framework, it often looks like scaffolding. I envision a crane or a giant magnet coming in to remove it. It simply gets lifted out and taken away. I do this exercise until I feel like it is all gone. Then I invite in all of the new things that are trying to come in to fill that space.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Each client reported feeling much more settled after we did this exercise.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This exercise can be done by just envisioning it or if you are more comfortable, it can be done in meditation. Either way, taking out the old structures helps your energy system to adjust to all of the new things coming in and gets your mind in a better place to welcome them.</span></p>

It is essential to ground our energy if we want to function at our highest. But sometimes, grounding seems nearly impossible. There are factors that can influence our ability to ground. One of those things is not being happy with where we are. This could be where we are physically located or where we are in our lives at the moment. When we are in this space, we tend to daydream, projecting our energy wherever we want to be.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Recently a client of mine was in this very predicament. She had moved to go to college in a different state. After arriving she realized that this wasn&#8217;t what she wanted after all. Everything felt off about it; the people, her classes, the intensity. Her heart was not in it and she was beating herself up for feeling this way. She tried to find ways to connect and integrate herself into the college life but it just felt wrong and it was draining her. She longed to be at a different school in a different state than she had visited a few weeks prior. It felt like a much better fit and she was energized being there. She had applied to go there next semester and it was all she could think about. The problem was, it was making her feel more disconnected than before from where she was going to school now. Everything felt like an increasing struggle and her health was suffering as a result. As we talked, her energy was stirring, but nothing was really sticking as far as creating a positive shift. We talked about grounding where you are and calling back your energy from where she was projecting it to be present. That seemed to make her feel worse. Then I was shown something in her field that made me shift what I was telling her. I saw pieces of where she was projecting her energy coming into her field. It was under her feet and it seemed to be recharging her energy. So instead of having her ground where she was physical, we brought where she wanted to ground to her. Think of it as carrying a momento with you to remind you of someone or something that makes you feel good.</span></p>

I told her to sink in her roots and before she even did that, she felt better. It was pulling her energy system out of the alarm state it was in from not being where the vibrations were more supportive and allowing it to have contact with something that felt good. She relaxed and her energy started to perk back up. It was apparent in her voice. She felt that the time she had left at her present school was more manageable now and had a renewed focus.</span></p>

Almost immediately after I had that thought, I managed to catch my right pinky toe on a door. OMG! OUCH! Of course, my son was very supportive seeing me do this and doubled over laughing, as I danced around wailing, unable to put pressure on my foot. But after the pain subsided to a manageable level, I waddled to my office and sat down. Hmmm, maybe there&#8217;s a post in this?? And of course, there was.</span></p>

</div><div class="fusion-text fusion-text-9"><h2>What is the Spiritual Meaning of the Pinky Toe?</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So, the pinky toe is called the Earth toe, and is symbolic of trust and prosperity perceptions. The right pinky toe further holds deep beliefs about money and sexuality and the emotions of fear, insecurities and betrayal.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While that symbolism seems a bit heavy, there are some striking things there. Like I said, things are going well despite the state of the world at the moment and while this is a good thing, I am not used to it. Life has been crazy the past few years, which can make things going well a bit destabilizing. All the spirit guides in the world telling you over and over things really are good, is not enough sometimes. And that is when the Universe tries to break off your pinky toe to remind you to chill out. Message received. So if you find yourself with an injury on some part of your body, it&#8217;s a good idea to look it up, because if you don&#8217;t and that feeling or belief persists within you, chances are you are going to keep injuring yourself until you figure out the message.</span></p>
<h2>How to find the spiritual meaning of other body parts</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Here are the steps to take if you find yourself with an injury:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">First address the wound or bruise, of course. Then look it up online and see what the meaning of that body part is. Think through how the meaning translates into your life. Then create a released statement around it. For example:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I acknowledge the beliefs and fear I have around money. I love myself even though these beliefs and feelings are present and I choose to release them to the Universe (God, Divine, etc). If specific thoughts, beliefs, memories, etc. come up during this process, they are being released and most likely, you won’t have to do anything else. If the memory or belief gets stuck as in, you can’t get it off of your mind, create a statement around that particular memory or belief and go through the same process again. This stuff is stacked in layers, so it may take some time to get to the bottom of things, but in the meantime, you will probably stop getting those painful reminders.</span></p>

She told me that it had alarmed her and she was transparent enough to let him know. She didn’t want to hurt him but it was feeling uncomfortable and she needed some space. She wasn’t sure deep down if she should still be involved in any way at all with him.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I told her that when you aren’t sure, it’s best to just take a step back and really evaluate where the feelings are coming from. She had been hurt in the relationship, so we took a look at the triggers around what had happened and whether or not her feelings of distance were coming exclusively from that place or other places of fear of being hurt again. She started to describe the relationship and it came out that he still had a lot of guilt about what happened. The energy of the guilt he was carrying was part of the discomfort, but there were other small issues that she had brushed aside that her feelings of alarm were calling her to question.</span></p>

Sometimes, we are swimming in muddy water and until the dirt settles, we can’t see which way to swim.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A few days later I spoke with her again. She had a huge energy shift in the last conversation she had had with him and she felt she should end it completely. She was calling me to see if I could pick up on if that was the ‘right’ thing to do or not. I told her that if she was feeling that strongly about it, it was the right thing to do. Your soul will never steer you wrong, even if it isn’t the direction you expected.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I told her to imagine that each decision was a ball of energy in her hand. Take the first ball of energy which is staying in contact, put it in your mouth, chew it up and swallow it. See how it feels in your body, giving it a little time to settle. Notice how your body reacts physically and emotionally. Don&#8217;t try to make it anything other than what it is and don&#8217;t judge yourself for your reaction. Next, do that with the ball of energy that represents cutting off contact and see how that feels. This helped and she was able to feel a difference between the two and realized her initial intuition was right.</span></p>

It allows the physical body, which we tend to trust more, to get involved (think of pain or a knot in your stomach or nausea). It is a great way to hone your intuition and stay in better alignment with your soul path, which is the ultimate decision for our best and highest good.</span></p>

Unless you are one of those parents with a child who has to find just the right pair of shoes that don’t do ‘that thing’ to their foot. Of course, you have no idea what ‘that thing’ is and they can’t explain it to you. I might be one of those parents ;). Eventually, though, you find the pair of shoes that will work, although you have no idea why, and life goes on. Nevertheless, shoes are relatively easy to replace.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But what happens when you have a soul growth spurt? What happens when the life you have been living suddenly doesn’t fit anymore? This can be one of the most trying things on your soul path to deal with. You are suddenly that kid in the shoe store and everything in your life feels like it is doing ‘that thing’ to you that you can’t explain. You’re miserable. You’re suddenly different and you have no idea why. When people ask what’s wrong, you don’t have an answer. “Everything” is the only thing you can think of. So what’s a soul to do?</span></p>

For the sake of this post, let’s focus on energetic structures. Just as the physical body has structures, the energetic body has structures as well. These are different from the structures we are most familiar with such as chakras, meridians, and the aura. These structures can appear in many forms. I have seen globs of goo, metal-looking girders and scaffolding, and balls of different shapes and sizes to name a few. The energetic structures support the aspects of our lives; everything from relationships to jobs to where we live and even what we eat and how we think. Every single thing has an energetic structure in your energy system that it sits upon; an energetic matrix.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As we have soul growth spurts, our awareness expands. Our soul moves forward and old structures start to feel like shoes that are too small. We may become irritable, depressed, unsettled, angry or sick. Aside from other life changes that need to take place (subject of another post) part of the issue is that these old structures have to be released so that new structures can come in to support our growing soul. We need new soul shoes, so to speak.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While changes in life circumstances, such as a new job or relationship can take time, old structures can be replaced with new ones rather quickly. By replacing old structures with new ones, it can ease the unsettling feelings we are having and can bring a new level of clarity to what we need to change in our physical reality and how to go about it.</span></p>

<h3><b>Exercise to clear old structures</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We have the capacity to be our own healers and replacing structures is no exception.</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Get to a quiet place and lie down if possible.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Relax your body in every way you can- Close your eyes.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Breathe deeply, going through each area of your body, consciously releasing any tension.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">At this point, you can simply ask for the old structures to leave. If you feel like you need assistance in clearing them, ask for help from your spirit guides and angels.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ask them to clean out the space that the structures occupied and remove any old energetic signatures where the structures were attached to you.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Next, ask for the new structures that are in your best and highest good to come in and fill the space.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">These new structures usually come in as light and form over a few days, so it may take some time to feel more solid with them.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">A salt bath can also be helpful to clear out stagnant energy and assist in removing old structures.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As you shift and grow on your soul path, this exercise is very helpful to smooth out the times when transitions get overwhelming or confusing.</span></p>

You have too much to do, and not enough time or energy to get it done. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When stress is running high in the general consciousness, if you are empathic in the least, whether you watch the news or not, you can&#8217;t help but soak up some of the panics. This is when self-care gets even more important; get plenty of rest, eat well, cut back on sugar and carbs (because they turn into sugar) to give your immune system the best shot at fighting off everything and manage your stress levels. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Stress is an immune system wrecker on so many levels, from spiking hormones to affecting sleep, but there are a few key ways to manage your stress levels that anyone can do.</span></p>

Simply put your hands on your belly and breathe into it intentionally. Say to yourself, breathe in calm, breathe out stress. Doing 10 deep breaths of complete inhale and complete exhale with the intention of clearing your energy is an easy way to clear yourself out.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Another helpful breathing exercise is to </span><b>breathe up through your feet</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Imagine each deep breath you take in comes up through your feet and into your body. This brings grounding energy into your body and helps clear your head.</span></p>

Like attracts like, so if you are panicked, do some deep breathing and as you do this, say to yourself, </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">I choose to let go of any: fear, panic, etc</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">. This covers your feelings and anyone else&#8217;s you have taken on. You can also light a candle and envision all of the energy/emotions that are keeping you in turmoil leaving you and getting burned up in the candle.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lastly, take a</span> <strong>salt bath</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Put a couple of cups of Epson salt in a bath along with a couple of cups of baking soda (you can do it without the soda, but it&#8217;s helpful). Just soak for about 15 minutes in warm water. (If you have medical conditions that make it unsafe for you to take a bath, obviously don&#8217;t). I like to light candles as an extra way to dispose of the energy I am pulling out. I usually save a bath before bed so I can just maximize the benefits of being relaxed so much.</span></p>

Instead of over the phone, she wanted to do it in person. I was fine with that and agreed to meet them both the next day.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When I arrived and greeted them, everything went pretty standard, &#8220;Hello, nice to meet you, etc.&#8221; but things didn&#8217;t stay that way for long. Initially, my friend&#8217;s friend started talking to me about her boyfriend and how she was in a toxic relationship. I could see how this wasn&#8217;t a good fit for her and we started to delve into why she might be in it in the first place. At first, she avoided going too deeply until I was more pointed with her. &#8220;Tell me about your childhood.&#8221; And that&#8217;s when things took a turn.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">She started telling me fragments of stories, losing her place and then lashing out. She would then cry a little, let down her guard and then, repeat the process over again. As I watched her go through this, and as we navigated the unusual conversation, something else happened. She was changing in age right before my eyes. She would start telling a story of when she was four or five years old that was full of trauma. I was suddenly talking to that child, who was scared and wide-eyed. She would say things like, &#8220;why did they do that? Didn&#8217;t they know that would hurt me?&#8221; So I would start talking to that &#8216;child&#8217; consoling her and making her feel safe. Seconds later, her entire demeanor would change. She would cross her arms and squint, glaring at me. I was now talking to her as a young teen who, &#8220;knew what I was trying to do. I was trying to shrink her and she was on to me.&#8221; I would then address this girl who was in a different place, wise for her age and hardened because she had to be to survive. This required a more matter-of-fact approach, where I was careful not to engage in anger entanglement with her. I didn&#8217;t make her wrong, but I held my ground, sharing stories about my own life with her to help her understand I got where she was coming from.</span></p>

My guides and hers were allowing me to do energy work on her so that when these traumas were at the surface, at least portions of them could be processed out. This was a longer than usual session and my guides told me to keep going longer than I ever expected. I was glad to do it because I knew we were making progress, even though it was difficult at times to tell exactly how to address the person in front of me in the most effective way. It was also fascinating to watch the process of change in her as we unraveled the years and years of pent-up energy she had been holding.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Within a few minutes of stopping the session, she was back to her adult self and you would never know what was inside of her, the burdens she was carrying.</span></p>

If you have ever been around anyone that has been triggered and &#8220;started acting like a child,&#8221; it is pretty much a guarantee that somewhere in their past, they had a trauma similar to the situation that is occurring right now in some way. It can be limiting and very frustrating for people who have had traumas to lead a productive, normal life at times. If you have experienced someone acting this way and it caught you off guard, know that it&#8217;s not you. It&#8217;s them doing their best to defend themselves (or their child self) from a detected danger. Act as compassionately as possible and don&#8217;t engage in their anger. And if you have experienced trauma and this sounds like you, there is hope. You can move past traumas and heal. There are many methods to do this from talk therapy to different types of energy work. In my practice, I have worked at length with clients who have experienced severe traumas and they have seen amazing results. The best part is, you don&#8217;t have to talk about your trauma if you don&#8217;t want to. The <a href="https://bmkqa4qp.pages.infusionsoft.net">energy work</a> stands alone to break this energy loose and release it. </span></p>

One of the things that has started happening is that people I have not talked to in forever are starting to reach out. One of those people just happened to be the woman who facilitated my awakening on a massage table 15 years ago. I was excited to hear from her. She told me she had watched my awakening video on my About Me page and was like, I was there for that! We set up lunch for a Sunday afternoon and I started thinking about everything that has happened over the past twelve years or so since I had seen her.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So. Much. Stuff.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It just so happens that Matt knows her too from before we even met and she had played pivotal roles in both of our lives. As we were talking about it, we were unloading the dishwasher. Matt went to pick up a glass from inside the cabinet to move it and the entire bottom of it just fell off. He didn&#8217;t drop it, it just broke. It looked like someone cut the glass in half. We commented on how weird it was but didn&#8217;t think much else about it.</span></p>

I must have done 4 or 5 sessions on myself. It helped but there was still something else. A few days later it occurred to me that I had probably taken on the energy of the people I had connected with, so I did a couple of sessions to clear out anything I might have picked up from them. Again, it helped, but still not 100 percent. A few more days passed. I still felt I had something going on with everyone I had talked to so I went back into my energy system and removed all the connections that had been formed with these people. I was feeling more myself but any time I walked into my office, I couldn&#8217;t bring myself to sit down and work. Monday passed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Every week I write a blog post and I just didn&#8217;t have the clarity to do it. While I forgave myself for the space I was in, I was frustrated. What was the deal? I knew I was still connected to these people, I could feel them, hear them. I got flashes of what they were doing, saying and thinking. It was driving me crazy. &#8220;I don&#8217;t understand what it is,&#8221; I told my husband, &#8220;It&#8217;s like, I&#8217;m not here or something.&#8221; Oh snap. Nailed it. I got off the couch from my pity party and went to do another session on myself. It wasn&#8217;t them connecting to me that was the problem. In all of my excitement of connecting to people, I had put myself out there; literally. Little energetic fragments of me were hitching a ride with these people from all over the planet. I had scattered bits of myself all over the place. It had spread myself so thin trying to connect I didn&#8217;t have enough of me to function. I called back the fragments of my energy I had placed with them. As I did this, I felt myself coming back together. My head cleared. I couldn&#8217;t feel them anymore. I was finally coming back to normal.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When you are empathic, sometimes it takes several different methods to feel better again after interacting with a lot of people. This can leave you feeling frustrated and drained. Be patient with yourself. Take things back to a simple place and get in nature. Get off your computer and Social media; anything that is noise; energetically, visually or auditory. It may take some time to feel better again. Take it slow. And just remember that being empathic is a gift, even though sometimes it may not feel like it.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Say, &#8220;I choose to call back the fragments of myself from anywhere they have spread to in the Universe. I choose for them to be cleaned, charged and in alignment with my energy before coming back to me.&#8221; </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Next, envision them coming back to you and take some deep breaths as they reintegrate into you. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This may take several days to complete depending on how scattered you are.</span></p>

Honestly, I have been trying to do it for years, but in a recent energy session I had flipped the switch so to speak and I am now a social butterfly. Weird. I&#8217;m not used to it and yet it feels good.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Recently, I connected with someone who has a company that builds apps, that I met on a business networking app. He asked to connect with me, so I responded and we talked about his company. I told him I had an app idea. I wasn&#8217;t planning on taking it any further, because, after all, it&#8217;s an idea that I am not ready to act on soon. He lives in Chicago but was going to be in Austin in November and asked if I wanted to meet. Being true to my new extroverted self, I agreed to a meeting, but as it got closer, I started to doubt myself. My negative self-talk started to creep in &#8220;you&#8217;re wasting his time&#8230; what do you know about apps??&#8230; what if he thinks it&#8217;s a dumb idea???&#8221; My old self was in a tug of war with the new side of me that was blazing a trail.  I wanted to go to the meeting, but I was also subconsciously looking for an out. I knew better than to use my old way of obsessing about how to get out of it because my body would oblige, usually with at least a 2-day headache and that was if I was lucky. So, I was uneasy about it but was going to go through with it anyway. I had planned on doing a great deal of research about apps, the competition I had going into it, etc, etc. Maybe if I at least looked informed I wouldn&#8217;t come off looking like a fool. Well, time ran out and I didn&#8217;t have any time to do what I had planned.</span></p>

HA! NO HEADACHE. I conquered it!! I finally moved past my fear that causes me to sabotage myself. I was soooo proud!!! Then I tried to sit up. OMG!! The back of my neck on the left side felt like I had been in a car accident and I could barely move my head. I asked my neck what was wrong and of course it said, I don&#8217;t want to go to the meeting. Sigh&#8230; I had my husband Matt rub my neck. It helped some, but I was still a mess. It was 9 am. I called the chiropractor and they had an opening in a couple of hours. I just KNEW my first rib was out and maybe my atlas. I went to my appointment and the chiro checked me, &#8220;You&#8217;re straight as an arrow,&#8221; he said. &#8220;What? No way!&#8221; I joked with him that it was probably the meeting I had that I was nervous about. He muscle tested me and asked me to think about the meeting. He chuckled, &#8220;Yup! That&#8217;s it!&#8221; he did some work on me to clear the energy of this and my neck started to loosen up. I was still a little nervous about my meeting but I started getting the insight that who I was meeting needed me to have an open heart, that he was struggling. The app guy?? Apparently.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It turns out they were right. We didn&#8217;t go super deep, but he told me he struggled with people interaction and that he was shy. He was wanting to change that about himself. This may have been a time to pitch him on how I could help him, but my gut was to refrain, for now. After a while, we got to discussing my app idea and it turns out I knew more than I thought I did about apps and the process of creating one. He also did not think my idea was a bad idea and offered for me to meet with his team to discuss what the process would look like if I was to work with them on creating it. He requested I create a document outlining what I wanted it to do, etc. I agreed and we parted ways. I came away with the feeling of accomplishment in that I saw it through and who knows? Maybe this is a project in the not too distant future that the Universe has planned. Wouldn&#8217;t that be cool??</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Each part of the body represents something.</span></p>

<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The neck represents the ability to have flexible thinking; seeing another person&#8217;s point of view. If we are having neck problems, it is a sign that we are being stubborn about our own personal concept of a situation.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The left side of the body represents the feminine side or the receiving side, where you take in things that are brought to you.</span></li>

I had this rigid idea that he would view me and my idea a certain way, and that contributed to my neck pain.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Turns out I was completely wrong, and I was glad about that.</span></p>
<h3><b>Exercise for pain</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We can ask our bodies what is wrong when we feel pain in a certain area. This exercise can help you improve your intuitive skills and raise your awareness of your body/mind/energy system connection.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Clear your mind as best you can. Place your hand over where you feel pain and ask your body what is causing it. You may feel feelings, hear a voice or see pictures. You may just have a sense of what the problem is. Ask your body to let go of the energy that is stored there and breathe light into the space. Sometimes it clears quickly and sometimes it takes a while for this to work. If you are having pain in an area, it is often a result of an accumulation of energy over time so it may take a good deal of time to release it and the pain to subside. If it returns, repeat the process. </span></p>
<p><b>If the pain gets worse and you feel medical help is needed, please seek a doctor&#8217;s advice. This exercise is not meant to replace any form of medical treatment.</b></p>
